About Us

Who is The Friendly Flosser?

The Friendly Flosser is a community oriented grassroots mobile dental hygiene practice founded by Jennifer Nowotney.

Our mission is to minimize barriers and champion oral health in underserved populations by bringing quality, accessible dental care to schools, healthcare settings and community events focusing on children 0-18 years of age.

Through our approachable and caring team, we aim to instill positive dental habits from early on, ensuring that children and adolescents not only receive quality dental care but also develop a lifelong appreciation for maintaining a healthy smile.

Our dedicated team of mobile hygienists is committed to providing top-notch dental services with a friendly approach, ensuring that everyone can access dental care in the comfort of their own space.

Join us as we pave the way for dental hygiene, one mobile visit at a time, fostering healthier smiles and promoting overall well-being in the communities we serve!

Jennifer is a dental hygienist with specialized training to allow her to provide preventive dental care in alternative settings, without the supervision of a dentist, and has been active in public health since 2016.

Her experience as Program Coordinator with Early Smiles San Bernardino, participating in the 2018-2019 CA Third Grade Smile Survey, involvement in the Virtual Dental Home (VDH) pilot project, being a community partner with Smile SBC, as well as being actively involved in screening and providing preventive dental services to numerous school districts and thousands of children throughout San Bernardino County is a testament to her knowledge, experience, and passion to serve.

How It Works

how it works

scheduling

We schedule a date for the dental team to visit your school/event. Prior to your scheduled visit date we will provide you with the student consent forms.

consent

Your teachers hand the forms out to each student. Students take them home to be completed and signed by their parent or guardian, then bring them back to the school.

collect

Your site will collect the consent forms, confirm forms are complete and signed. We will pick-up consent forms prior to the scheduled visit date.

visit

On the day of the visit, the dental team sets up a “dental office for the day” to provide the necessary dental care.  Every child seen gets a dental “report card” to take home and a FREE TOOTHBRUSH KIT.
